Full Obituary

BRUCE R. MARESCH, age 88, of Willard, WI, formerly of Beloit, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, in Marshfield, WI. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, June 20, 2016 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in Thorp. Rev. Paul Bittner will officiate and military rites will be  conducted by Thorp American Legion Post #118. Visitation will be held at the church, on Monday, from 10am until time of service.
Bruce Roger Maresch was born on August 17, 1927 in Janesville, WI, the son of William and Alma (Neitzel) Maresch. He received his education in the Janesville area, graduating from Janesville High School. After completing his education, Bruce enlisted in to the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. He was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Hovland on June 11, 1949. Bruce worked at the Beloit Corporation as a foreman for many years, before moving to Rock Dam, rural Willard. Over the years, he was employed by the Town of Foster, served on the town board, and drove for Abby Van.
He had many interests, but especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cribbage, and Packer and Brewer games.
Bruce was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, a member of the Thorp American Legion, and a member of the Rock Dam Rod & Gun Club. He was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Beloit prior to moving to Rock Dam.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth A. Maresch, of Willard; two daughters: Georgana Cruse of Willard and Carol (Dan) Baer of Beloit; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law: Kathy Maresch of Eau Claire; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Darryl Maresch; 6 brothers and one sister.
