SIDNEY "SID" SKALESKI, age 78, of Owen, WI, passed away at home on Saturday, October 10, 2026.  Visitation will be held at Thorp Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 from 10am to 11am.  Entombment will follow at 3pm at Nicolet Memorial Gardens in Green Bay, WI.

     Sidney Skaleski was born on March 2, 1948 in Stanley, WI, to Victor and Mary (Gunia) Skaleski.  He was raised in Longwood, WI, rural Withee, received his education in Owen area schools, graduating from Owen-Withee High School in 1967.  After completing his education, Sid worked for a short time in Spencer, WI and then moved to Milwaukee where he worked for several companies.  He was united in marriage to Mary K. Vlasek on August 16, 1984 in Waukesha, WI.  Sid was a millwright most of his life and worked in Milwaukee at Wisconsin Motors, Akkerman Manufacturing, Midwest Petroleum, and retired from Pure Power.  After retiring, they moved to Owen and have resided there since.

     He had many interests, but especially enjoyed racing stock cars when he was younger, watching NASCAR, his classic cars, and watching The Price is Right.

     Sid is survived by his wife, Mary, of Owen; one sister, Shirley (Ray) Bonczyk of Glen Ellyn, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Sylvester.
