A graveside service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at East Thorp Cemetery in Thorp, WI.

     LYLE D. LORENZ, age 84, of Thorp, WI, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Aspirus Stanley Hospital in Stanley, WI.  Graveside services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at East Thorp Cemetery, in Thorp, with Rev. Phil Beukema officiating.

     Lyle Dennis Lorenz was born on June 5, 1942 in Eau Claire, WI, to Elmer E. and Evelyn M. (Zillmer) Lorenz.  He was raised and received his education in Eau Claire, graduating from Eau Claire North High School in 1960.  In 1963, he moved to Stanley, WI and began working at Our Lady of Victory Hospital.  Lyle was united in marriage to Carolyn R. Doege on April 26, 1969 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Thorp.  They resided in Thorp, and Lyle remained employed at the hospital until retiring in 2006 after 43 years of employment.

     He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Thorp, and enjoyed traveling, especially taking cruises.

     Lyle is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn, of Thorp; two brothers: Harlan Lorenz of St. Cloud, MN, and Larry (Joan) Lorenz of Eau Claire, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Carol Anderson.
