Full Obituary

      FRANK A. PIETRZAK, age 82, of Rothschild, WI, passed away at Pride TLC in Weston, WI on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp, WI.  Rev. Stanislaus Michael Antony will officiate, and burial will follow in Old St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be his nephews.  Visitation will be held at the church, on Thursday, from 9:30am until time of service.
     Frank Anthony Pietrzak was born on June 11, 1941 in Stanley, WI, to Frank and Frances (Mateski) Pietrzak.  He was raised and received his education in Thorp, attending Sterling School from 1st-3rd grade, St. Hedwig's Catholic School from 4th-8th grade, and graduated from Thorp High School in 1959.  Frank then taught school for one year in Taylor County in 1961, and then attended UW-Stevens Point and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1966, and his Master of Science in Education in 1977.  He taught in the Medford School District from 1962 to 1965, in Wisconsin Rapids from 1967 to 1969, and then at DC Everest in Wausau until retiring in 1998.  In retirement, Frank spent his winters in Chandler, AZ.
     He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Rothschild, the Wisconsin State Reading Association, Central Wisconsin Reading Association, National Education Association, Wisconsin Education Association, and the Marathon County Retired Educators.  Frank had many interests, including Polish Heritage.  He belonged to the Polish Heritage Club in Sun Lakes, AZ, and the Polish Awareness Society in Stevens Point, WI.  Frank also enjoyed gardening, volunteering, and loved traveling.  He visited most of the United States and Canada, and also traveled to Switzerland, Poland, Australia, New Zealand and Germany.
     Frank is survived by on sister: Carol (Don) Balslew of Hillside, IL; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: James and Ted; and four sisters: Lillian O'Neil, Carolyn Pietrzak, Hattie Neisius, and Mary Denning.
