Donald Joseph Bugar was born on August 27, 1931 in Marshfield, WI, the son of Ignatius and Gisela (Fitzel) Bugar. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in the Loyal area, graduating from Loyal High School in 1949. After high school, Don farmed east of Loyal until 1972. He also operated his brother, Paul's, trucking business, Paul Bugar Trucking, from October 1952 until September 1954, while Paul served overseas in the U.S. Army. After he discontinued farming, Don started his own business, Don Bugar Bulldozing, which he operated until retiring in 2011.
He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and had been on the parish council board for several years.
Don had many interests, but especially enjoyed spending time at his cabin, hunting with his hounds, playing baseball and softball, and bowling. He served on the Town of Sherman board. Over the years, Don was a special part of the lives of his nieces and nephews, whether it was spending time on the farm, hunting, taking care of them, going on an adventure or just for a good visit. He was known as Uncle Donnie to not only his nieces and nephews but to many friends and neighbors.
He is survived by 9 nieces: Mary (Dean) Hoesly, Susann (Wayne) Scheel, Diane Machtan, Jane VanCleave, Julie (Mike) Steinberg, Sandra (Emmo) Smid, Vickie Schmidt (Bill Mitch), Mary Rubin, Carol (Bob) Bluma; 7 nephews: Paul J. Bugar, Gerald (Lois) Bugar, David Bugar, Tom Bugar, Scott (Karen) Bugar, Edward (Leone) McGuire, Dick (MaryLou) McGuire; 6 step-nieces: Barbara (Christopher) Kluck, Joanne (Bill) LaBarge, Roxanne Miller, Suzanne (Dennis) Ebert, Diane Brussow, PollyAnn Thomas; 5 step-nephews: Lawrence (Lois) Brostowitz, Peter (Denise) Brostowitz, Leonard (Vicki) Brostowitz, Mark (Suzan) Brostowitz, Paul Brostowitz; other relatives and many friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Helen McGuire; 7 brothers: Raymond, Ignatius, Joseph, Leo, Robert, Paul and Alvin Bugar; and one nephew: Melvin Bugar.
