Full Obituary

NELLIE H. KOZIKOWSKI, age 96, of Thorp, passed away at Oakbrook Health & Rehab on Monday, December 11, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday, December 15, 2017 at St. Bernard/St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, in Thorp. Rev. Janusz Kowalski will officiate and burial will follow in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church, on Friday, from 9am until time of service.
Nellie Hedwig Kozikowski was born on December 10, 1921 in Lublin, WI, to Michael and Veronica (Swistak) Kozikowski. She was raised on the family farm northeast of Thorp and received her education in area schools, graduating from Thorp High School in 1939. After completing her education, she moved to Chicago and worked there until her retirement. She then moved back to Thorp where she resided until the time of her death.
She had many interests, but especially enjoyed dancing, listening to music, and helping children. She was a member of St. Bernard/St. Hedwig's Catholic Church and its Parish Council of Catholic Women.
Nellie is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers: Steve, Walter, Peter, Paul, Frank, John, Edward and Alexander; and two sisters: Julia Kozikowski and Josephine Spiewak.
